Position Summary

The Manager-Investment Accounting will manage the accounting for the investments that support Everlake’s new reinsurance transactions. This individual will be responsible for the accounting for multiple investment portfolios and will work closely with cedents and Everlake’s external investment manager to ensure accurate accounting.To be successful, this individual will need to develop a deep understanding of Everlake’s reinsurance transactions, including investment guidelines and settlement processes. This individual will also support the analysis of investment results for these portfolios, provide accounting insight on investment decisions, and lead process improvements.

This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The successful candidate must be intellectually curious, detail oriented, and able to operate effectively within a dynamic and evolving organization.

Key Responsibilities

·        Manage the accounting for the investments that support new reinsurance transactions by developing a detailed understanding of the reinsurance transactions, investment strategy, and investment structures

·        Work directly with Everlake’s Investment team and 3^rd party cedents to ensure investment transactions are recorded completely and accurately

·        Support the timely and accurate preparation and review of Statutory and GAAP financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, guidance and reinsurance agreements

·        Identify opportunities for process improvements, including data solutions and opportunities to implement AI solutions, and work with Everlake’s external investment manager, Clearwater investment software to implement improvements

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment or insurance accounting and financial reporting

·        An understanding of financial reporting standards (GAAP, STAT) and regulatory compliance

·        Knowledge of investment and insurance principles and best practices, and a strong grasp of reinsurance concepts

·        Strategic mindset with the ability to align accounting goals with broader business objectives

·        A strong understanding of and experience in the execution of financial reporting controls

·        Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders

·        Integrity and ethical leadership, promoting a culture of accountability and professionalism within the team.

·        Proven track record in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team

·        Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines and priorities

·        Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday), Clearwater and MS Excel

Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques for data analysis, process automation, and financial reporting enhancements
