    Suominen is looking to hire a dynamic Manager, Maintenance to manage preventative and corrective maintenance and repair activities so that the plant´s buildings, facilities, production lines and equipment operate reliably and according to stringent safety and quality standards of Suominen, local codes, laws, and regulations.

    You may be our next Manager, Maintenance, to be located at our Windsor Locks, CT location.

    Key tasks and responsibilities:

    • Manages the work and activities of maintenance staff and external resources within a plant so that repair and service activities are completed according to quality standards, accurately, safely, and on-time.
    • Manages, plans, prioritizes, and schedules maintenance activities (e.g. preventive and reactive maintenance, shutdowns, or emergency repairs) to optimize OEE, rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions.
    • Ensures that the assets are maintained in a manner that lowers total cost, and capital is effectively used and managed. Identifies risks concerning critical spares and BCP and ensures action plans are in place to mitigate risk and exposure.
    • Manages and controls maintenance costs according to budget. Updates maintenance cost forecast
    • Develops and implements repair and maintenance procedures and manages maintenance system information; monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritizes spending, and achieves timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
    • Ensure availability of spare parts and resources
    • Conducts Breakdown analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated and longer downtime or failure of an asset. Implements corrective actions and looks for continuous improvement activities to reduce downtime and extend the life of key assets.
    • Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with external contractors to increase efficiencies and minimize costs and ensures the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Develops and sets repair standards, specifications, and audits / inspections of repaired equipment or services.
    • Manage the plant wide work order computer system - CMMS. E.g. equipment history, work order planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance tasks as well as predictive maintenance tasks all documented within the CMMS program utilized by the entire plant.
    • Manage autonomous maintenance program together with production manager
    • Supervises a Maintenance team made up of Mechanical and Electrical (Automation) Technicians, working with all business lines, logistics, and QA.
    • Manage sustain & improve projects locally. Participates actively on larger investment projects affecting the plant.

    To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

    • 5+ years of experience working within a manufacturing environment and maintenance.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Good PC skills
    • Required to work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Must be flexible to work weekends and evenings if needed
    • Must be able stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch. Must be able to lift and/or move 10 lbs.
