JOB SUMMARY: Directly responsible for all manufacturing activities. Establish and uphold policies and

procedures for product quality, efficiencies and timeliness. Direct and manage all manufacturing operations

with overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality, safety and any other production related activities.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:

• Oversee day to day operations of assembly, manufacturing, machine shop, welding & maintenance.

• Responsible for coordinating production activities, work schedules, establish production schedule

deadlines and ship dates.

• Responsible for adherence to all safety rules and regulations.

• Works in conjunction with human resources to recruit train and retain qualified, skilled employees

to meet production needs.

• Ensure manufacturing operates efficiently and profitably and implement cost effective systems

of control over capital, operating expenditures and labor.

• Develop and implement operational procedures in the plant.

• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.

• Monitor/manage work flow and build times and also departmental budget.

• Manage supervisory personnel.

• Oversee ISO compliance.

• Responsible for compliance with all company policies and procedures and working with human

resources to complete performance evaluations, disciplinary documents, status changes, attendance

forms (absences, vacations, leaves, etc…).

• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.

• Establish and reinforce shop floor organization and plant (5S) cleanliness among plant personnel.

• Work with senior management to ensure that manufacturing is meeting business needs and expectations.

• Successfully interact and problem solve with Service & Technical Manager.

• Work with Accounting personnel to estimate % completion and forecasting

• Follow-up on specification changes. See that jobs get updated after shipments with Engineering.

• Assist purchasing to evaluate the flow of parts, operational needs and supporting purchase initiatives.

• Interact with Sales personnel to forecast hours and discuss production schedules.

Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.

Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:

Bachelor/4 year degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or Operations Management or related field with

5-10 years of manufacturing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the “build-to-order” manufacturing environment, manufacturing methods, process improvement

programs and procedures required.

Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications for equipment, manuals,

instructions, reports, financial statements, etc…

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume –

basic algebra and geometry.

Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business software applicable to the manufacturing

setting, as well as manage the timekeeping system for accurate payroll.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

Work schedule generally consists of 50 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings and/or weekends.

Regularly required to lift/maneuver 50 lbs.
