This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Manager, Manufacturing Production Process Engineering, is primarily responsible for leading a team to manage the strategy and project portfolio for the engineering team. You will ensure compliance with regulations and foster a culture of excellence through performance management and employee engagement at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. Specifics include:
Establish and enforce project governance, stage-gate processes, and project management standards.
Manage a portfolio of manufacturing engineering projects (capex, automation, tooling, NPI, continuous improvement) directly and through direct reports.
Partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to prioritize and execute projects.
Oversee project planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.
Implement and maintain project management tools, dashboards, and KPI tracking (schedule, cost, scope, ROI).
Coach and develop project managers and cross-functional teams.
Identify 3rd party contractors, manage their contracts, and ensure partnerships are right-sized.
Lead portfolio reviews and executive reporting with clear visibility to risks and milestones.
Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes and project delivery performance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
5 Years of relevant experience
3 Years of demonstrated leadership
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Location: Onsite
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
