SUMMARY
Leads engineering and quality activities across production and new product launches. This role is responsible for improving process capability, reducing defects, managing quality systems (IATF 16949:2016), supporting customer and supplier quality, and building a high-performing engineering team. The manager works cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective manufacturing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 8-12 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational chart, company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, and process engineering.
Prior leadership or people management experience with professional teams.
Strong knowledge of:
APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans
SPC, CAPA, RCA, 8D
GD&T, DOE, MSA, Cpk
Lean, Six Sigma, 5S
Quality standards such as IATF 16949:2016, and customer specific systems.
Experience with new product launch, audits, and process continuous improvement as a Tier #1 Automotive supplier
EV battery experience or knowledge preferred
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) knowledge
Maintaining Bill of Materials updates with ECI process
Generate reports and suitable materials for customer review and executive leadership team
