Summary:

Thispositionmaintainscomplete24-hourresponsibilityandaccountabilityforthequalityofservicesprovidedtocustomers.Thispositionlinksnursingmanagementtonursingcarethroughtheapplicationoforganizationalpoliciesandpracticesinconcretepatientcaresituations.

Responsibilities:

(30%)*Directsallpatientcareactivity in the inpatient and outpatient units,includingon-goingevaluation,treatment,and dischargeplanning.Establishespatientcaredelivery goalsandobjectivesthatareconsistentwiththe organization'smission.Provides directpatientcarewhenneededandappropriate.

 

(25%)*Responsible for selection, retention, hiring,disciplininganddischargingemployees withintheunitaccordingtomedical centerpolicy.ResponsibleforwrittenJobPerformanceReviews(JPR's)forallemployees withintheunits.

 

(25%)*Determinesandmaintainsthestaffingandschedulepatterns toprovide24hour/day,365days/year coverageoftheunit.

 

(20%)*Collaborateswithphysicians, administration, community agencies, other health care facilities and alllevelsofnursing managementandotherdepartmentalpersonnel in planningforcoordinatedservicestothepatient.

 

OTHERDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

DesignsandconductsProcessImprovementandStandardsofCarefortheunitincludingestablishingandwritingpoliciesandproceduresfortheunit.

 

Workswithvisitorstoensurecustomersatisfaction,addresscomplaints/concernsinordertomeettheir individualneeds.

 

Plansandpreparestheannualoperating/capitalbudgetfortheunit.

 

Preparesplanningproposals,justificationsforprojects,staffing,capitaldevelopmentandotherfinancialreportsasrequiredbytheunit.

 

Takesanactiveroleinregularnursingmanagementmeetingstoinfluencethedirectionofnursingservice.Activelyleads/participatesinappropriatemeetings.

 

Plansanddevelopsnewprogramsandfacilityrenovationasappropriate.

 

Participatesonorleadsnursingservicecommitteesasappointedby Clinical Nursing Director or Chief Nursing Officer.

Certifications and Licensures:

Credential:RN: Registered Nurse

 

 

Credential:BLS: Basic Life Support

Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer

Required Education:

Education: Bachelor's Degree
