Hybrid-eligible

$67,000-$77,000

Reports to: Chief of Staff

Position Summary:

The Manager of Academic Data, Compliance, and Institutional Reporting serves as the institution's primary coordinator for academic and accreditation-related data collection, analysis, reporting, and compliance activities. The position oversees the collection, validation, analysis, and submission of institutional data required for accreditation, rankings, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making. The manager collaborates extensively with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the Registrar, Admissions, Business Office, and other departments to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of institutional data.

This is a hybrid-eligible role for the right candidate.

Accreditation and Regulatory Reporting

• Coordinate data collection and reporting for:

o American Bar Association (ABA)

o New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)

o Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)

o U.S. News & World Report

o Other institutional reporting requirements

• Monitor reporting requirements, deadlines, and regulatory changes.
• Prepare supporting documentation for accreditation reviews and site visits.
• Maintain reporting calendars, submission records, and accreditation archives.

Institutional Data Management

• Develop and maintain academic data collection processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT and Registrar to maintain data integrity across systems.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of institutional data.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries, reporting standards, and documentation.
• Coordinate data validation activities across departments.
• Conduct regular audits of reported information.

Analysis and Reporting

• Analyze institutional, academic, enrollment, faculty, and student outcome data.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership and governance groups.
• Identify trends, opportunities, and potential compliance risks.
• Provide analytical support for strategic planning and institutional effectiveness initiatives.

Rankings and Benchmarking

• Manage annual reporting to external ranking organizations.
• Conduct benchmarking studies against peer institutions.
• Analyze ranking methodologies and identify factors affecting institutional performance.
• Assist leadership in interpreting ranking and survey results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the primary liaison among Academic Affairs, Registrar, Student Affairs, Admissions, Finance, Career Services, and other

departments regarding institutional data.

• Coordinate institution-wide data requests.
• Provide training and guidance regarding reporting requirements and data standards.
• Support accreditation self-studies and institutional reviews.

Compliance and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor compliance with accreditation standards and reporting obligations.
• Recommend process improvements for data collection and reporting.
• Develop policies and procedures that strengthen institutional data governance.
• Maintain records supporting accreditation and compliance activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education data management, institutional research, accreditation, compliance, assessment, or related fields.
• Experience with IPEDS, accreditation reporting, institutional research, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
• Experience working with student information systems and institutional databases.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear reports and recommendations.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple reporting deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ABA accreditation reporting.
• Experience with NECHE accreditation processes.
• Familiarity with U.S. News and other higher education ranking methodologies.
• Experience developing institutional dashboards and perf
