Job Summary and Qualifications The Manager of Central Sterile Processing oversees the daily operations of the department to include staffing, services, quality and finance. The Manager ensures that policies and procedures are in compliance with regulatory agencies. Essential Job Functions: 1. Coordinates activities within the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) area. Ensures daily readiness f staff and department for JCAHO, AAMI, AORN, state/local agencies. 2. Prepares and maintains a departmental annual capital and operating budget. Communicate any variances to the VP of Operations. 3. Coordinates and promotes collaboration between physicians, nursing staff, department managers and department personnel to support new services and departmental operations. 4. Assures that personnel are appropriately oriented, trained and supervised to enhance the efficiency of operations. Yearly employee feedback and competency are completed on the employee's birthday month.. 5. Acts as a resource on matters related to sterilization, decontamination, and surgical instruments and equipment. 6. valuates and communicates recommendations to the VP of Operations regarding space, facilities, equipment, supplies and staffing levels. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited program for nursing preferred; associate degree or baccalaureate program. Minimum experience of two years in the OR and one year in a management position. Two years experience in sterile processing is preferred.
