Your future role at a glanceLocation: Austin, TX l On-SiteDepartment: External CommunicationsSchedule: Full timeSalary: $99,863.85 - $135,109.91 per yearEligible for an annual bonus incentiveHow you'll make an impact in this roleManage day to day execution of the external communications strategy and plan for Texas that improves our market reputation, in coordination with other enterprise and local communication teamsAssist in the development of various external communications content including press releases, statements, media talking points, op-eds, award submissions, LinkedIn posts and more.Develop media coverage reports and evaluate progress towards identified KPIs.Proactively research and evaluate additional media and thought leadership opportunities for consideration.Provide external communications counsel and support to Ascension Texas market leaders and other partner teamsRequires excellent writing and project management skills, as well as critical thinking, strategic counseling and decisive judgment.What minimum qualifications you'll needEducation:High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.What additional requirements you'll need6+ years of progressive leadership experience in journalism, external communications, or public relations, with a proven track record of driving brand reputation, preferably within a healthcare system or complex, service-driven environment.Experience with executive communications and counselAdept at the rapid development of content in support of local business, market and organizational communications needsLife at Ascension: Where purpose meets opportunityAscension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.
