Description

The Corporate Finance group is seeking an enthusiastic problem solver to support an increasingly dynamic Fortune 500 company. We are seeking a Manager of Financial Accounting who is looking to further develop his or her career in a growing global company. The position is designed for an individual who can independently own complex analyses, drive conclusions, identify process inefficiencies, and communicate recommendations with minimal oversight. Primary responsibilities include technical accounting and financial analysis, particularly for special transactions (acquisitions, divestitures, integration, transformation, and process improvements), as well as researching and documenting technical accounting matters and supporting month‑end close review and analysis. This role serves as a key thought partner to the Head of Accounting of our Passenger Transit business segment and includes other opportunities to collaborate with various members of the Corporate Finance team and support the broader organization. This role will also have significant interaction with both the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Collaboration with domestic and international business unit and functional leaders offers extensive learning opportunities and exposure across our many global businesses that can serve as a foundation for future career opportunities. The position offers opportunities to utilize the candidate's experience in driving operational process and control improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of financial information. Success in this role requires the ability to operate with autonomy in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.Typical DayAssist in researching relevant GAAP and providing technical accounting guidance to business leaders across the organization, particularly related to revenue recognition, inventory costs, fixed assets, restructuring, and research and development costsProduce well‑structured, audit‑ready technical accounting memos and communication materials for review by senior management and external auditorsTranslate complex accounting issues into clear business implicationsCollaborate with various functions across the organization to identify and implement process improvements and to drive consistent application of policiesDeliver concise and actionable financial analyses to support reviews of business unit and segment resultsSupport corporate development, business unit and functional leaders in acquisitions, divestitures, and other special transactionsLead periodic reviews of critical accounting estimates and certain account reconciliationsRepresent the Controllership function for the annual standard cost review update and approvalsAssist with monthly and quarterly financial close processesDevelop and maintain business‑specific policies and procedures to drive appropriate/consistent internal controls, accounting, and financial reporting of transactions across the companyMaintain compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements, ensuring procedures and internal controls are in place and effective through coordination between business unit personnel and ControllershipSupport and coordinate external auditor requestsOther duties and special projects as requiredWhat do we want to know about you?Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA or equivalent professional certification5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with public multinational manufacturing organizations and/or public accounting firmsWorking knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognitionOracle and OneStream experience a plusPersonal Skills and CharacteristicsDriven and enthusiastic with the ability to demonstrate a passion to contribute to achieving business goalsA true self‑starter, consistently demonstrating an ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendationsAbility to communicate effectively across functions and with executivesWillingness to travel and work extended hours as requiredDemonstrated ability to operate independently on technical accounting mattersHands‑on leadership style with strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skillsCommitted to driving change and accountability through implementing standard practices and initiativesPerforms well with ambiguity and under pressure; can effectively cope with change and act without having the total pictureCommitment to business ethics and integrityOur job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $91,100–$129,800. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
