Manager of IT and Information Systems

Anchor Talent has partnered with a growing SaaS company to identify a Manager of IT & Information Security to take full ownership of its IT infrastructure and security function.

This is not a traditional leadership role. It is a hands-on, build-and-run position where you will directly shape and operate the company’s technology and security foundation. You will be responsible for everything from infrastructure reliability and automation to security strategy and incident response. Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable writing scripts, managing vendors, responding to incidents, and advising leadership.

This is an opportunity to step into a mission-critical role with immediate impact, owning and evolving a security and IT function that is already functional, but now requires strong, centralized leadership to scale effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and operate the company’s IT infrastructure and information security function, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across systems and environments
• Manage the software and tooling ecosystem, including vendor relationships, licensing, renewals, and cost optimization
• Lead IT automation and operational efficiency initiatives, leveraging scripting and modern tooling to streamline workflows
• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and risk management practices, aligned with frameworks such as NIST or similar
• Oversee identity and access management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and system hardening
• Lead incident response efforts end-to-end, including detection, containment, remediation, and post-incident review
• Partner with engineering to support secure cloud infrastructure, application environments, and deployment practices
• Coordinate external IT support and security vendors, ensuring effective service delivery
• Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities
• Support customer security engagements, including audits, questionnaires, and incident-related communications

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience across IT operations and information security
• Strong hands-on technical background (infrastructure, systems, and security)
• Experience in a technology or SaaS environment
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, and Linux systems
• Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
• Experience with automation, scripting, and modern IT tooling
• Ability to operate independently in a lean, high-ownership environment
• Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) preferred
• Experience supporting security audits or compliance initiatives

This is an hybrid role with 2 days in the office located in downtown Austin. Relocation and sponsorship is currently not available.
