The Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, patient care delivery, and staff performance within the medical-surgical and telemetry units. This role ensures high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and efficient department operations in a fast-paced acute care environment.
This leadership role requires strong clinical expertise, team management capabilities, and the ability to drive patient care excellence while supporting hospital goals and growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Ensure high-quality patient care and clinical outcomes
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff and charge nurses
• Manage patient flow, staffing, and scheduling
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission)
• Monitor and improve quality metrics and patient satisfaction
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies
• Analyze data, identify trends, and implement performance improvements
• Maintain confidentiality and handle high patient volumes effectively

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field – Required
• Active California RN License – Required
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Med/Surg/Telemetry experience
• Basic EKG/Telemetry interpretation experience (or completion within 6 months)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree (MSN or related field)
• Charge nurse or supervisory experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry
• Experience in acute care hospital settings
• Leadership experience in high-volume patient environments
