The Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, patient care delivery, and staff performance within the medical-surgical and telemetry units. This role ensures high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and efficient department operations in a fast-paced acute care environment.
This leadership role requires strong clinical expertise, team management capabilities, and the ability to drive patient care excellence while supporting hospital goals and growth.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Ensure high-quality patient care and clinical outcomes
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff and charge nurses
- Manage patient flow, staffing, and scheduling
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission)
- Monitor and improve quality metrics and patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies
- Analyze data, identify trends, and implement performance improvements
- Maintain confidentiality and handle high patient volumes effectively
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field – Required
- Active California RN License – Required
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required
- ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Med/Surg/Telemetry experience
- Basic EKG/Telemetry interpretation experience (or completion within 6 months)
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree (MSN or related field)
- Charge nurse or supervisory experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry
- Experience in acute care hospital settings
- Leadership experience in high-volume patient environments
