Senior Manager of Procurement Strategy and Delivery

Reports To: Vice President of Capacity Solutions

Purpose of Your Work:

As a Senior Manager of Commercial Procurement Strategy and Delivery,you will be responsible for contributing to North America transportation strategy for our Redwood SCS Managed solution and the successful execution of that strategy. The role focuses on procurement RFQ, customer discovery, vendor strategy, baseline Reporting and summation, post analytics, results via strategic power point delivery, market context, and performance expectations.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

  • Be a part of a team that is responsible for establishing the North America Procurement solution delivery for TL, Intermodal, Flatbed, Temp control, and Expedited modes.
  • Responsible for establishing a vendor strategy of qualified carriers across modes utilizing both Highway and a Procurement tool to managed, develop, and monitor vendor relationships via RFP participation and delivery performance
  • Develop and recommend modes and strategic areas that fit the customer profile
  • Work with the post RFP analytics and strategy to deliver clear messaging on results as it relates to historical benchmarks, market benchmarks, RFP results, vendor participation and expectations in post procurement to Sales, Commercial, and the Customer
  • Work with the Delivery team to implement a strategy for post go live where contracting, integration, training, and timeline all need to be established and coordinated with the implementation team
  • Learn to work with other teams at Redwood including Mexico Pricing, CAN Strategic, Multimodal, International, LTL on potential customers
  • Understand our customer networks and continue to develop, support, and drive down customer costs
  • Work with the delivery team to replace and update current vendor networks and pricing based upon market information and or pressures in a post RFP world
  • Work with our Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that all legal MSA’s and addendums along with monitoring through 3rd party companies are clean and updated
  • Work with the Procurement team to support the tool, process, audience, output and data integrity is accurate and concise

You’ve Got This?

  • At least 5 years of combined experience in carrier Procurement and Logistics/Operations
  • Solid understanding of transportation Carrier/Service Providers contracts, all modes, transit time, and networks
  • Understanding of mode rate structures (such as Air, TL, LTL, Parcel and International)
  • Must be able to speak and present to other teams and customers
  • Understand the FP&A Audit Process and Payment Process to Vendors
  • Understand reporting trends and translate into verbal direction to impact results
  • Understand and communicate market conditions as it relates to specific customers, locational constraints, and data analytics
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Availability to travel 5-10% of the time
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, working knowledge of Tableau

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and hybrid Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000

This position is eligible to earn quarterly incentives based on individual and company performance.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
