Manager, Regulatory Affairs ERCOT
The Opportunity
A growing energy company is seeking a Manager, Regulatory Affairs to help lead its expansion into ERCOT. Already active in other competitive U.S. power markets, the organization is investing significantly in Texas and building out its market presence.
This is a newly created, high-visibility role with the opportunity to help shape ERCOT regulatory strategy from the ground up. The position is focused primarily on market and regulatory affairsnot compliance.
The role can be remote for an Austin-area candidate with periodic travel or based from the greater Houston area.

What You'll Do
- Represent the organization in ERCOT stakeholder processes, PUCT proceedings, and industry forums.
- Monitor regulatory, legislative, and market developments and translate them into business implications.
- Develop and advance ERCOT regulatory and market strategies.
- Build relationships with regulators, policymakers, market participants, transmission providers, and industry groups.
- Manage external regulatory consultants, advisors, and counsel.
- Partner with internal teams on market rule changes, policy initiatives, and strategic opportunities.
- Prepare regulatory analyses, presentations, and recommendations for leadership.
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of ERCOT market rules, stakeholder processes, and the Texas regulatory landscape.
- Understanding of PUCT proceedings and competitive wholesale power markets.
- Experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, stakeholder engagement, or electricity markets.
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate effectively in a growing, fast-moving business.
- Ability to travel periodically.
