Job Overview - Manager, Technical Accounting - 34362

What You'll Do

As the Manager of Technical Accounting, you'll serve as a key resource for complex accounting matters across the organization while partnering closely with SEC Reporting, FP&A, Legal, Commercial, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze complex U.S. GAAP accounting issues and prepare technical accounting memorandums and position papers.

  • Lead technical accounting assessments for new business initiatives, non-routine transactions, and evolving accounting guidance.

  • Evaluate and implement new accounting standards and update company accounting policies.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, including:

  • Reviewing customer contracts

  • Identifying performance obligations

  • Assessing variable consideration

  • Allocating transaction prices

  • Determining appropriate timing of revenue recognition

  • Prepare technical revenue recognition documentation and partner with commercial and legal teams during contract negotiations.

  • Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, earnings release support, footnote disclosures, and Workiva reporting.

  • Assist with financial statement tie-outs, disclosure support, and audit-ready documentation.

  • Support SOX compliance by executing and documenting internal controls related to technical accounting and financial reporting.

  • Partner with external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, FP&A, Tax, Treasury

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Industry experience within a public company environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting
  • Hands-on experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos and supporting complex accounting conclusions
  • Familiarity with SEC reporting, financial statement disclosures, and SOX controls
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and Workiva (or similar SEC reporting software) is a plus
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA preferred
