    Job Description

The Manager - Visual Merchandising owns visual merchandising execution across Tatte’s Washington, DC and DMV cafés. This role provides the market with locally based leadership, independently sets field priorities, leads rollouts and openings, develops café capability, and partners with Operations to sustain Tatte’s standards. The Manager serves as the primary connection between the DMV cafés and the Boston-based Visual and Merchandising team and is accountable for turning company direction into consistent café-level execution.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Own day-to-day visual merchandising execution across the DMV market and serve as the primary field partner to District Managers, General Managers, and café teams.

    • Translate company visual direction into clear market plans, priorities, timelines, and café-level expectations.

    • Lead seasonal rollouts, menu and product transitions, new café openings, promotions, events, and other brand initiatives from planning through sustained execution.

    • Set a regular café visit cadence, independently assess performance, resolve issues, and ensure follow-up without requiring daily direction from the Boston-based team.

    • Build visual merchandising capability by training and coaching café leaders and team members and by creating practical tools that support consistent execution.

    • Partner with café leaders to establish routines, ownership, scheduling, and inventory practices that protect presentation standards.

    • Use sales, product movement, guest feedback, and field observations to recommend improvements to store layout, product mix, displays, and merchandising priorities.

    • Create and maintain visual standards, store and display schematics, training materials, and field communications in partnership with the Senior Manager – Visual & Merchandising.

    • Oversee market landscaping and floral displays and manage assigned operating expenses, supplies, vendors, and assets.

    • Monitor relevant competitive and design trends and share practical recommendations with the Visual and Merchandising team.

    • Represent Tatte’s visual standards and values in cross-functional meetings and with employees at all levels.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Four or more years of progressive visual merchandising, retail presentation, hospitality, interior styling, or related experience; multi-unit field experience strongly preferred.

    • Demonstrated success independently managing priorities and execution across multiple locations.

    • Strong visual judgment and the ability to balance brand consistency with the needs of individual cafés and markets.

    • Proven ability to influence leaders, coach teams, solve problems, and drive accountability without direct reporting authority.

    • Strong project management skills, including planning rollouts, managing competing deadlines, and sustaining standards after launch.

    • Business acumen and the ability to use sales, product, labor, and expense information to guide decisions.

    • Clear written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent tools; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp is preferred.

    • Appreciation for Tatte’s brand, cafés, food, and guest experience.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Regular travel throughout the assigned market is required.

    • A valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle are required.

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.

    • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and to bend, reach, stretch, stand, and walk for extended periods.

    COMPENSATION

    • Proposed base salary range: $80,000-85,000
    • Target annual bonus: 10 percent

Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. Benefits are provided in accordance with Tatte’s current plans and policies.
