    About the Role 

    The Manager, Operations & Event Services plays a central role in how people experience the Chamber. This role owns the day-to-day operations of the Chamber office and Microsoft Events Center, creating a professional, welcoming, and well-run environment for employees, tenants, members, and guests.

    This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys making things work. The Manager manages the Chamber’s 2,500-square-foot Microsoft Events Center, which accommodates events of up to 150 attendees, while managing workplace operations, office services, facilities coordination, vendors, budgets, inventory, and operational logistics. From preparing for a major event to resolving an unexpected workplace issue, this role has the autonomy to set priorities, make decisions, and keep operations moving.

    As the Seattle Metro Chamber’s primary front-office presence, the Manager serves as a visible and trusted point of contact for employees, members, partners, tenants, and guests. The role sets the tone for a welcoming and professional environment while overseeing visitor services, incoming calls, general inquiries, and the day-to-day needs of the workplace.

    What You’ll Do
     
    Events Logistics Management 
    • Manage rental activity for the Microsoft Events Center, including responding to inquiries, developing prospective clients, managing bookings and rental agreements, and working towards annual rental revenue goals. 
    • Lead event planning and execution, including client communication, room setup, audio-visual coordination, catering, vendor management, and day-of support.
    • Ensure a seamless experience for event hosts and guests while maintaining high service standards and operational excellence.
    • Monitor event center performance, utilization, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Manage event-related budgets, inventory, and operational procedures to support successful events and long-term sustainability.
    Workplace & Office Operations
    • Own day-to-day workplace operations, ensuring a professional, organized, and welcoming environment for employees, members, tenants, and guests.
    • Serve as the primary front-office contact, managing visitor experiences, inquiries, workplace logistics, and office services.
    • Coordinate facilities, vendors, building management, and workplace resources to support business operations and resolve day-to-day issues.
    • Improve processes, maintain operational procedures, and manage office inventory, purchasing, and workplace readiness activities.
    • Support employee and tenant onboarding, workplace access, and office resource coordination.
    • Administer Certificates of Origin and support other operational and administrative services.
    • Serve as Floor Warden and support workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and business continuity efforts.
    • Contribute to special projects and other operational initiatives that support the Chamber's mission and organizational success.

    What You’ll Bring
    Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in office operation andadministration, workplace operations, event management, facilities coordination, hospitality, reception, customer service, or a related field.
    • Experience independently managing day-to-day operations and service delivery.
    • Experience serving as a professional first point of contact for employees, members, executives, public officials, vendors, visitors, or other stakeholders.
    • Experience managing vendors, facilities, workplace logistics, and operational issues.
    • Experience planning and executing events, meetings, or complex logistics activities.
    • Experience improving processes and creating operational tools, procedures, or resources.
    • Experience managing or administering budgets, contractors, billing, purchasing, and inventory.
    Skills & Competencies:
    • You have strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and operational details simultaneously.
    • You have a customer-service mindset and take pride in creating positive experiences for employees, members, tenants, vendors, and guests.
    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and follow through on commitments.
    • You exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • You are resourceful, analytical, and proactive in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
    • You can work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
    • You are comfortable learning and adapting to new systems, workplace technologies, and audio-visual equipment.
    • You are comfortable using a mobile phone for work-related communication and coordination, including event and operational needs. 
    • You are flexible and willing to support occasional early morning or evening events.

    Employment Details
     
    The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $33.29 - $36.86 hourly, based on experience. The Chamber provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including but not restricted to:
