This position is responsible for the leadership, direction, coordination and management of the daily operations and personnel of the medical practice. The Practice Manager assures that the office functions efficiently to support the physicians and/or advanced practice providers in providing safe and compassionate patient care.
Job Description:
This role focuses on:
- Ensuring safe, efficient patient care by evaluating and improving practice workflows.
- The individual works with the Director to identify improvement opportunities and implements plans to address them. Maintaining proficiency in procedures, techniques, and equipment within the assigned areas is essential.
- Regular communication with the Director is a key responsibility, providing updates on department activities, addressing issues, and reporting on corrective actions.
- The individual conducts regular department meetings and participates in department-specific meetings to stay aligned with team goals.
- Ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures is another important aspect of the role. The individual promotes and applies policies consistently across the staff. They collaborate with support departments to organize in-service training programs that keep staff up to date with policies, certifications, and competencies.
The role requires compliance with the hospital's Standards of Employee Conduct. - Patient satisfaction is a priority. The individual reviews patient survey results and implements improvement plans accordingly. They also help promote patient satisfaction initiatives to ensure high-quality care is consistently delivered.
- The individual plays a role in developing the annual staff and operating budgets, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines, and analyzing variances. They work to ensure staffing levels are aligned with patient volume, managing overtime and adjusting staffing as needed while complying with budget and hospital standards.
- Managing direct reports is a key responsibility. The individual approves and signs off on timesheets for direct reports and monitors staff performance regularly.
- Performance evaluations are completed with input from the Director and Medical Director(s) and are submitted to Human Resources within required timelines.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree or higher in a health-related field, business administration and/or a related field is required
- Medical Office Management, Social Work, Therapist experience preferred
