    Job Summary

    The Manager of Procurement is responsible for leading a team of procurement specialists to develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives that support the institutions educational and operational objectives. This role includes overseeing vendor selection and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations, and fostering collaborative relationships across departments to optimize resource allocation and enhance institutional performance.

    Responsibilities

    Job Duty 1 - Lead a team of procurement professionals by providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.

    Job Duty 2 - Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that align with the institutions goals and effectively address the needs of various departments.

    Job Duty 3 - Oversee the evaluation and selection of suppliers by conducting thorough market research and analysis to ensure the best quality and value for the institution.

    Job Duty 4 - Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing, thereby maximizing the institutions financial resources.

    Job Duty 5 - Monitor compliance with procurement policies and regulations, ensuring that all purchasing activities adhere to institutional guidelines and legal requirements.

    Job Duty 6 - Analyze procurement data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for process improvement within the procurement function.

    Job Duty 7 - Facilitate training sessions for team members and other stakeholders to enhance their understanding of procurement processes, tools, and compliance requirements.

    Job Duty 8 - Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior management that detail procurement activities, budget performance, and strategic recommendations for future initiatives.

    Job Duty 9 - Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement needs, providing expert guidance on best practices and efficient purchasing processes.

    Job Duty 10 - Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    Bachelors degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

    Required Experience

    5+ years of relevant experience; 3+ years of supervisory knowledge.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Additional Preferred Qualifications

    Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification.

    Preferred Educational Qualifications

    Masters degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

    Skills

    This job requires working knowledge of IT, scientific and technical procurement. Additionally, skills in supervision, organization, communications, problem solving and negotiation are required.
