Manager, Production Control Operations (Crew B)

The Manager of Production Control Operations is responsible for leading all shift-based material management activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, from inbound raw components to finished goods, supporting production targets while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery standards.
This leader partners cross-functionally with planning, engineering, logistics, and production teams to ensure seamless material operations, while driving continuous improvement and supporting a fast-paced launch and production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead all shift operations related to material management, including scheduling, inventory control, kitting, lineside delivery, and service parts execution to support uninterrupted production.
Supervise, coach, and develop a team across material operations, third-party logistics providers, and service parts functions, promoting accountability and strong communication.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards across material handling and warehouse operations.
Work closely with material planning and engineering teams to validate processes, equipment, and layouts that improve efficiency and throughput.
Align production schedules with material availability by reviewing and providing input on production and supply plans.
Coordinate with logistics, production, and engineering teams to support takt time and build requirements.
Monitor and resolve material shortages, delays, and inventory issues in real time to avoid production disruptions.
Lead daily operational meetings and escalation processes to quickly address and resolve issues impacting production.
Support incoming inspection, maintain BOM accuracy, and oversee execution of engineering changes.
Partner with IT and planning teams to maintain system accuracy across WMS, ERP, and shop floor systems.
Track and improve KPIs such as inventory accuracy, material availability, schedule adherence, line stoppages, and cycle count performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on material flow, system integration, and operational efficiency using lean and kaizen principles.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 12 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree may reduce experience requirements.
Experience in manufacturing, production control, or supply chain operations, preferably within automotive or similar high-volume environments.
Strong understanding of WMS and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, along with familiarity in MES and Kanban systems.
Proven leadership experience in fast-paced or launch environments with a track record of driving execution through teams.
Solid problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles, just-in-time systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Working Environment
Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting requiring time on both the shop floor and in an office environment.
Regular collaboration with internal teams and external partners such as suppliers and logistics providers.
Occasional travel may be required to support launches, suppliers, or distribution operations.
Work Authorization Requirement
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Compensation
Base salary range: $131,773 to $197,660 annually. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
