    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Launch Manager with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is responsible for leading and executing all technical aspects of manufacturing launch activities related to PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems. This role ensures successful introduction of new programs by managing controls integration, equipment readiness, and process validation in compliance with customer, safety, and quality requirements.

    Essential functions of the job:

    • Lead end-to-end launch activities for PLC-controlled systems.
    • Manage equipment installation and commissioning timelines.
    • Oversee PLC programming
    • Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and improvements
    • Coordinate with OEM customers and suppliers
    • Maintain PLC documentation, backups, and version control.
    • Train maintenance and production teams on controls systems
    • Launch milestones achieved on time.
    • Run-at-rate performance.
    • First-pass yield at launch.
    • Equipment uptime
    • Audit compliance
    • Robotics integration
    • Industrial networks
    • Electrical schematics
    • Root cause tools (5 Why, PFMEA)
    • Leadership and project management
    • Problem-solving and decision-making
    • Strong communication and teamwork
    • Ability to perform in high-pressure launch environments.

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or related field
    • *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
    • 5-10+ years in automotive manufacturing and PLC systems
    • Must be able and willing to travel if needed.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Proficient organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
