ARS is looking for a Project Control Manager to work in Huntsville, AL on a hybrid basis. The Project Control Manager is a key member of the Facilities Solutions Group (FSG) Operations team responsible for all Project Control related policies, processes, procedures, staffing, training, and mentoring. This individual will be responsible for the project controls discipline across their assigned FSG companies. This individual will be responsible for identifying gaps in project control support or knowledge and then working with operations to train existing staff or recruit and hire experienced project control support where needed. Manages the activities of the project control function. Manages project setup, adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Estimates at Completion (EAC) development, project reporting, unbilled analysis, schedule status reporting, cost/variance analysis. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.


Responsibilities


+ Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across all aspects of Project Controls, including:

+ Costpoint project setup and reporting

+ Revenue recognition rules and compliance

+ Month-end close processes

+ Customer invoicing and billing lifecycle

+ Cost and schedule variance analysis

+ Estimate at Completion (EAC) development and formal review cycles

+ Forecast development and performance reviews

+ Unbilled and DSO analysis

+ High-risk and high-visibility program reviews

+ Provides direct project controls support across programs to address gaps, stabilize execution, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements

+ Partners with Shared Services and Operations to support new project transitions, phase-ins, and project setup activities

+ Interfaces regularly with Project Management and Project Controls leadership across operating companies; provides guidance, support, and mentoring to assigned points of contact

+ Communicates effectively across the Project Controls community through forums, internal communications, and formal training sessions as needed

+ Demonstrates working knowledge and experience supporting Aerospace and Aviation-related contracts

+ Coordinates contract changes and associated impacts in alignment with Contracts Management

+ Ability to manage and prioritize support across multiple programs simultaneously in a dynamic environment

+ Provides leadership and supervision for a small team (1–3 personnel), including oversight, development, and performance management


Qualifications


+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business-related field

+ Minimum 5+ years’ experience working for a Federal Government Contractor

+ Solid understanding of all contract types, FAR regulations, government compliance

+ Strong personnel management experience and communication skills

+ Process improvement

+ Ability to present to Senior Leadership

+ Proficiency with Deltek CostPoint Project Module

+ Deltek Time and Expense

+ MS Excel Proficiency (Vlookup / SUMIF formulas, pivot tables, etc.)

+ Strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project

+ Experience using and configuring MS SharePoint team sites

+ This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Huntsville, AL


Desired Qualifications:


+ Cognos experience preferred

+ Aerospace experience a plus
