This role serves as a primary point of contact for insurance carriers, brokers, insurance-appointed counsel, internal stakeholders, and third-party claimants, and plays a critical role in protecting the organization's financial, operational, and reputational interests in a high-profile environment.The Risk Manager manages insurance procurement, oversees claims and litigation from intake through resolution, develops and implements risk management and loss prevention strategies, and regularly interfaces with members of the public in sensitive or adversarial situations requiring exceptional judgment, professionalism, and customer service.Responsibilities Risk Management, Insurance & Claims Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including insurance brokers, underwriters, third-party administrators, investigators, and consultants.Evaluate, recommend, and administer insurance programs, including but not limited to Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors & Officers, Cyber, and event-related coverages.Proactively coordinate and prepare insurance renewal submissions, exposure data, loss runs, and underwriting presentations.Review insurance provisions in contracts and evaluate Certificates of Insurance for compliance and risk transfer adequacy.Conduct enterprise and operational risk assessments and partner with stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies and best practices.Coordinate loss control, risk mitigation, and carrier site visits across facilities and operations.Litigation & Claims Management Manage the full lifecycle of claims and litigation, including intake, investigation, carrier reporting, coordination with insurance-appointed defense counsel, settlement negotiations, mediations, hearings, and post-resolution activities.Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the organization, insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and appointed outside counsel to ensure the internal Legal team can effectively manage defense strategy, cost control, and timely resolution.Provide timely and accurate notice of claims and potential claims to carriers and track compliance with policy requirements.Develop and execute response plans for incidents, losses, and litigation matters in coordination with Legal, Stadium Operations, Security, HR, and other stakeholders.Track, analyze, and report on claims trends, litigation exposure, reserves, and outcomes to senior leadership.Public Interaction & Stakeholder Coordination Regularly interface with members of the public and claimants, addressing grievances, claims, and sensitive incidents with professionalism, empathy, discretion, and exceptional customer service.Partner closely with Stadium Operations regarding incident reporting, claims, and losses arising from events held at Levi's® Stadium and other venues.Maintain composure and sound judgment when handling emotionally charged, high-visibility, or reputationally sensitive matters.Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent, compliant, and brand-aligned responses to incidents and claims.Specialized Programs Manage the workers' compensation and incident reporting program, including claim intake, carrier reporting, monitoring, and coordination with internal stakeholders.Track and administer the NFL League-Wide Workers' Compensation Program and related reporting obligations.Other Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Legal and Risk Management functions.Required Abilities and Skills Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage disputes and grievances involving internal stakeholders and the general public.Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility through timely, accurate, and empathetic communication.Strong litigation and claims management skills, including experience working closely with insurance-appointed counsel.Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in high-pressure, high-profile, or adversarial situations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex issues clearly, concisely, and impartially.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.Creative, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to identifying and mitigating risk.High degree of discretion and respect for confidentiality.Education and Experience Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management, claims, insurance, litigation management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Juris Doctor strongly preferred.Experience working in a highly regulated, public-facing, or high-profile environment preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
