Manager, Strategic Category & Sourcing

LHH is partnering with a growing food distribution organization seeking a Manager, Strategic Category & Sourcing to lead sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, and category performance initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement leader who combines strong commercial acumen with deep food industry expertise.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category management strategies.

• Lead supplier negotiations and drive cost savings, margin improvement, and supply continuity.

• Manage key supplier relationships and performance initiatives.

• Support product commercialization, innovation, and go-to-market efforts.

• Partner cross-functionally with operations, inventory, procurement, and leadership teams.

• Lead and develop a sourcing/category management team.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Food Science, Finance, or related field.

• 8+ years of experience in food procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, & food buying.

• 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams or large-scale programs.

• Proven success negotiating contracts and delivering measurable cost or margin improvements.

• Experience within the domestic food industry required.

• Strong knowledge of food distribution, commodities, inventory management, private label, and co-manufacturing.

• Experience with center-of-plate proteins & cold storage environments
