The role builds deep market and technology expertise and ensures alignment between regional execution and central Purchasing Germany requirements.\n \nBy identifying supply gaps, advancing localization and Tier\u2011N build-up, and providing cost transparency and sourcing options, the role directly influences nomination decisions, commodity strategies, and supply chain resilience. It acts as a key integrator of localization, cost, and risk considerations into MSK and global purchasing frameworks.\n \nKey Objectives\n\n Build a qualified, nomination-ready supplier base (USMCA compliant) and close Tier\u2011N gaps\n Deliver market intelligence, technology insights, and competitive benchmarks\n Ensure cost transparency and competitiveness (e.g., should-cost, benchmarks)\n Enable sourcing decisions via pre-RFQ strategies, supplier shortlists, and readiness\n Drive localization and resilience strategies and integrate into commodity / MSK frameworks\n Act as interface to central Purchasing Germany ensuring alignment and governance\n \nEssential Functions: \n \nSupplier Base Development & Localization (30%)\n \nBuild and develop a qualified, nomination-ready supplier pool (USMCA compliant)\n \nIdentify and close Tier\u2011N supply gaps to enable deep localization\n \nDrive supplier capability assessments, development, and readiness\n \nMarket Intelligence & Supplier Screening (25%)\n \nConduct market screening and supplier identification aligned with global and regional requirements\n \nDevelop technology and supplier landscape transparency (L4L, trends, competitors)\n \nProvide market intelligence reports and benchmarking insights\n \nSourcing Preparation & Strategy Enablement (20%)\n \nDefine pre-RFQ supplier shortlists and sourcing strategies\n \nEnsure supplier readiness for nomination and sourcing processes\n \nContribute to commodity strategies and MSK frameworks\n \nCost Analysis & Competitiveness (15%)\n \nDevelop cost breakdowns (should-cost) and benchmarks\n \nIdentify cost optimization potentials and competitive positioning\n \nEnable fact-based sourcing and negotiation support\n \nLocalization & Resilience Strategy Integration (10%)\n \nDefine and implement localization / deep-localization concepts\n \nIntegrate resilience and risk mitigation measures into supply base strategies\n \nEnsure alignment with central Purchasing Germany and global governance\n \nNumber of direct reports - 6\n \nQualifikationen\n \nQUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.\n \nEducation: \n \nThis position requires a Bachelor's degree in: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Business Administration, or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.\n \nExperience: \n \nA minimum of five (5) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s): Procurement, Supplier Quality, Supplier Management function or related functions.\n \nNecessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: \n \nTechnical & Functional Expertise\n \nStrong knowledge of procurement, sourcing governance, and supplier management\n \nSolid understanding of end-to-end sourcing and nomination processes\n \nExperience with MB project frameworks and automotive standards\n \nAnalytical Skills\n \nStrong ability to analyze complex issues and derive solutions\n \nExperience with root cause analysis and supplier improvement actions\n \nData-driven mindset with focus on insights and decision support\n \nProject & Stakeholder Management\n \nProven ability to manage multiple projects and drive cross-functional alignment\n \nStrong influencing and negotiation skills in an international environment\n \nLeadership & Communication\n \nResults-oriented change agent with strong ownership and accountability\n \nExcellent communication skills and intercultural competence\n \nFluency in English required\n \nNetworking & Collaboration\n \nStrong global procurement network (incl.
