The Manager of Supply Chain Clinical Value Analysis provides system-wide leadership and direction in facilitating and coordinating the clinical value analysis program. Utilizing a strong foundation of evidenced-based data/research/peer review studies, professional experience, and an understanding of the cost/quality continuum, this position guides clinical staff in product selection and assists in the resolution of quality concerns. The clinical value analysis process will ensure a prudent use of fiscal resources and clinical standardization around best practices. This role also coordinates system-wide technology assessment and equipment processes as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • This leader works within a defined organizational structure to identify process improvement and cost saving opportunities related to improved product, service and process standardization and utilization. 
  • Partners with supply chain solution’s leadership in the development of reports, analytics, and systems to identify opportunities and implement recommendations. 
  • Organizes, directs, and implements an infrastructure for a system approach to clinical value analysis regarding consumables, technology, and capital equipment. 
  • Key relationships include system and hospital leadership, department leadership and staff, physicians, nursing education, all of supply chain solutions and vendors/suppliers in matters related to clinical acceptability, costs, utilization, and implementation of a focused grouping of medical supplies, devices or services. 
  • Provides direction for supply chain solutions and implementation services in promoting clinical acceptance and cost improvement strategies to designated hospitals. 
  • Develops and implements strategies for effective alignment of all stakeholders for supply chain solution’s initiatives to achieve a “best practice” supply chain system and contribute to Legacy’s overall “Lean Operating System”.
  • Ensures a continuous improvement process of product evaluation for cost, quality, environmental sustainability, and patient/staff safety.  
  • Manages staff supporting the clinical value analysis program.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Must hold BSN graduate of valid registered nursing program.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare, Business or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Must have current RN license in Oregon or Washington.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years’ experience in a clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in a specialty area. 
  • Clinical experience required. 
  • Management and system-level experience preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of medical-surgical supplies, diagnostic testing, etc., preferred.
  • Previous experience participating on or conducting a product evaluation, clinical value analysis or process improvement committee preferred.
  • Experience using healthcare data preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, presentation, and facilitation skills, able to present complex information to a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with diverse groups of both clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  • Organizational skills: ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical skills including cost-benefit analysis and financial feasibility studies, as well as ability to analyze complex operational and financial scenarios to render solutions that meet the customers’ desired outcomes.
  • Strong computer literacy/savvy especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs with ability to learn new software programs.
  • Negotiation skills and experience with products, services, and materials management techniques.
Licensure:
  • Must be a registered nurse with current/active licenses in Oregon and/or Washington.
