POSITION SUMMARY

This position is accountable for direct purchases of chemicals, catalysts, spare parts inventory, consumables, and capital spares for the efficient operation of the facility. Duties include overseeing purchasing, warehouse and inventory management and working closely with associated functions such as accounts payable and contractor management and with maintenance, planning, turnaround, and capital projects on site-This position will work with the Senior Director of Supply Chain to develop and maintain supplier relationships ensuring cost effective and efficient use of company funds.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain/Purchasing/Logistics, Business, Accounting or Technical Fields are preferred. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) / Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) highly desired

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 + years of procurement and/or warehouse experience. Contract Management experience helpful.
  • 3 + years minimum supervisory experience
  • Experience with Oracle, Maximo, or other ERP system
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of software
  • Experience with or managing Turn Arounds from a Procurement perspective highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted ethical purchasing policy and procedures required.
  • Effective communicator and negotiator in terms of both verbal and written skills
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required
  • Ability to resolve increasingly complex problems.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes.
  • Must have "Customer Service" driven management style.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversees the purchase activities for the facility. Focus on continuous improvement, supplier performance management, and improving the reliability of the site through efficient supply chain management.
  • Coordinates and works with the contracts team on contractor management to ensure we have contracts in place to mitigate risk.
  • Supports warehouse operations in the most cost-efficient manner and is consistent with all safety and environmental policies.
  • Ensures the receipt, storage and issue of stock and non-stock materials are performed in an accurate timely manner.
  • Evaluates, coordinates and controls critical items to ensure needed materials are available to avoid costly delays in the site operations.
  • Ensures the Procurement function supports Operations/ Maintenance through the complete Procure to Pay process.
  • Presents weekly and monthly reports to the Supply Chain team to ensure KPI's are met.
  • Attends weekly planning meetings, turnaround, and capital project meetings, and keeps the site leadership team informed of issues proactively.
  • Exposure to work near potentially volatile and combustible materials and chemicals.
  • This is an on-site role that will be expected to modify their schedule to accommodate both unplanned and planned events.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Inventory levels are coordinated with maintenance and operations to reduce downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Requisitions are process and purchase orders expedited as needed to meet the site requirements.
  • Reports are accurate and timely.
  • Subordinates are coached and mentored to prepare them to take on expanded roles for the facility.
  • Ensure Procurement and Inventory Management are "Customer Service" focused.
  • Ensure ethical purchasing and inventory management practices are followed.
  • Competitive bidding occurs per our policies.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
