Position: Swimming Pool ManagerSupervisor:Principal, High SchoolWork Site:Swimming Pool Site

Summary:Pool manager will manage all day to day operations at the pool facility to include pool maintenance and safety, ensuring compliance of all state and local pool regulations; and pool personnel and pool patrons. Pool manager will also coordinate and provide First Aid, CPR, AED certification in collaboration with Student Services Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the pool facilities including evening activities and private usage.
  • Inspect the pump house and outside perimeter of the pool.
  • Inspect, clean, and disinfect the men and women dressing rooms after each session.
  • Responsible for training and certification of all employees. (Lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional, First Aid certification, and Water Safety training and emergency response).
  • Make recommendations to Human Resources on employment.
  • Responsible for accounting for and depositing all revenue received at the pool.
  • Organize, schedule, evaluate, supervise and administer the established programs. Programs include public swimming, lap swimming, therapy, lessons, exercise programs, and all school usage of the facility.
  • Supervise the KRONOS program daily and submit approval of all employee hours. Schedule all employees and approve employee requests for time off.
  • Communicate and enforce pool policies, standard health regulations, and purpose of the pool programs to employees, interested citizens, and participants.
  • Responsible for the safe and desirable pool conditions, water chemistry, and pool chemicals.
  • Manage facility to ensure compliance with all health department regulations.
  • Maintain order and insure the all patrons and staff are educated on respecting the facility and each other when using the facility.
  • Oversee that the pool is locked and secure at all times when not in use and supervised.
  • Communicate with the principal about the operations of the pool concerning maintenance of the pool, behavior problems of participants or employees, and maintenance problems with the equipment.
  • Provide pertinent comments on daily reports.
  • Conduct general pool maintenance including cleaning filters and backwashing, adding chemicals, vacuuming and cleaning pools, and keeping facility equipment at efficient levels.
  • Order all pool chemicals and supplies.
  • Schedule the health department's yearly inspection for operation permit. Deal with problems found during routine inspections. Report to the principal and rectify any findings of the inspection.
  • Supervise employees on computers or when they are using school equipment.
  • Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws.
  • Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure
  • Support and comply with grant, program and/or funding source requirements
  • Complete and comply with all required trainings annually
  • Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8)
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Current certification in Pool Operator, Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, or other related fields
  • Certified as an Instructor in Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional, First Aid, AED, and Water Safety
  • Must have training in Water Therapy, Exercise, and Chemical Safety (Hazmat)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred

Physical/Job Requirements:

Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills. Lifeguarding and swimming skills are necessary.
