This position is responsible for managing commercial and technical relationships between the customer and the mill, understanding customer requirements, business development efforts, and day to day electrical steel account management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
2) Develops account strategies, territory plans and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
3) Develops and maintains relationships at all levels within the customer organization.
4) Identifies key target accounts and develops accounts to maximize tonnage, price, and mix.
5) Manages contract negotiations and develops plans to satisfy contractual obligations.
6) Provides market and customer feedback to respective departments and documents customer comments in Customer Feedback Reporting.
7) Assists with the monthly planning and forecasting for product portfolio.
8) Promotes BRS capabilities and unique benefits in the market.
9) Provides technical, product and quality assurance support, influences product development and trial efforts, and provides technical review and setup for new parts.
10) Manages outside processor quality and held inventory issues for customer base.
11) Works closely with Quality Assurance, Product Development, Customer Technical Service, Logistics, Finance and Operations to customer expectations and resolve customer issues.
12) Keeps informed of new products, market and industry dynamics and trends, and competitive landscape to develop methods to attain and retain customers.
Qualifications:
1) Bachelor's degree in business, engineering/technology or closely related field or 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
2) Thorough understanding of steel processes, melting, rolling and finishing and product applications.
3) High level of detail, problem solving and technical skills.
4) Proven record of accomplishments in sales, building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
5) Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet goals and objectives.
6) Demonstrated ability communicate calmly, clearly, and persuasively in all situations.
7) Ability to work in self-directed fashion, drive, initiative, self-starter.
8) Demonstrated group presentation skills.
9) Projects professional appearance, behavior, manners, and etiquette.
10) Effectively interprets and makes business decisions using financial information.
11) Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position requires a flexible schedule. Independent travel is expected with little to no advanced notice. This position requires the ability to work on hot/cold manufacturing environments.
