Job Title: Release Manager
Location: Remote (Occasional onsite visits to Oakland, CA as needed)
Duration: 3 Months Contract
Pay range: $70 to $75 per hour (DOE)
Job Description:
- Manage end-to-end software release planning, scheduling, coordination, deployment, and post-release activities.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent software releases with varying timelines, priorities, and deployment objectives.
- Collaborate closely with AI, Software, Firmware, Hardware, DevOps, and Operations teams to ensure successful release execution.
- Support software releases for autonomous delivery robots and public-road autonomous systems.
- Drive release readiness reviews, change management processes, deployment approvals, and release governance.
- Identify release risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
- Utilize Git for source control management, branching strategies, release tracking, and version control best practices.
- Leverage Jira and Confluence for release planning, project tracking, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Work with geographically distributed engineering teams across California and Arizona.
- Monitor release metrics and continuously improve release processes and operational efficiency.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of autonomous delivery and automation technologies.
- Ensure adherence to established release management standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Release Management experience supporting software, firmware, and hardware development projects.
- Experience working in autonomous vehicles, robotics, embedded systems, automation platforms, or similar technology environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Git, including branching and release management strategies.
- Strong experience utilizing Jira and Confluence for Agile project management and release documentation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex releases simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
Work Environment:
- 3-month contract assignment supporting a maternity leave coverage.
- Primarily remote with occasional onsite visits to Oakland, CA.
