The Manager of Video & Audio Media Buying will play a critical role in driving the growth of Care.com's customer base through effective and strategic video and audio media buying across Linear TV, OTT, digital video and audio channels. This role is responsible for managing our external media buying agency, executing strategic plans, analyzing performance data, and optimizing video/audio media campaigns to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in direct-to-consumer marketing, with a proven track record in TV and audio media management, strong analytical skills, and deep expertise in attribution, measurement, and media optimization. This role will report up to the Director of Brand Strategy, Media & Partnerships.

Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive video media strategies for Linear TV, OTT, digital video and audio channels to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and retention.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including the Growth, Brand, Creative and Analytics teams, to align video and audio media strategies with overall marketing objectives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate innovative approaches to video media planning and buying.

Agency Management:

  • Lead and manage the relationship with our media buying agency to ensure seamless execution of campaigns across Linear TV, OTT, digital video, and audio platforms.
  • Provide clear direction and feedback to the agency on strategic priorities, campaign performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor agency performance, holding them accountable for achieving agreed-upon KPIs and media performance goals.

Campaign Planning and Optimization:

  • Oversee the planning, negotiation, and execution of media buys, ensuring optimal reach and frequency for target audiences.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize video media campaigns, including adjusting creative rotations, audience targeting, and placement strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of media performance, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement and testing new approaches.
  • Manage and track day-to-day media spend, holding agency accountable to forecast

Measurement and Attribution:

  • Lead the development and implementation of measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of video/ audio media campaigns, focusing on attribution and ROI.
  • Work with internal data analytics teams to develop robust models for media mix optimization and multi-touch attribution.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and analysis of campaign performance, including reach, frequency, conversions, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Connect the dots from video/audio media spend to both immediate direct response and long-term brand equity growth.

Creative Testing and Innovation:

  • Design and implement A/B and multivariate testing strategies to identify the most effective creative, targeting, and media mix combinations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous experimentation and learning, partnering with creative teams to develop and test variations of existing creative.
  • Explore, evaluate and expand new video/ audio concepts or formats, exploring new ways into our business through creative evolution.
  • Lead competitive analysis in partnership with the media agency and make recommendations for Care.com.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and refine creative assets, ensuring alignment with video and audio media strategies, and short and long-term performance objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing regular updates on campaign performance, campaign insights, competitive insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Serve as a thought leader within the organization on all things related to video and audio media, breaking down functional silos, driving education and best practices.
  • 5-7 years of experience in video media buying and strategy, with a strong emphasis on Linear TV, OTT, digital video and audio in a direct-to-consumer environment.
  • Proven experience managing external media buying agencies, including strategy development, campaign execution, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with media and audio buying platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of video and audio media attribution, measurement, and testing methodologies, including multi-touch attribution and media mix modeling. Able to connect media buys to both immediate direct response and long-term brand building impact.
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning and optimizing video media campaigns to achieve specific business objectives, with a track record of driving growth and ROI.
  • Able to glean quantitative insights from large amounts of data. Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail, to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex information to partners and senior leadership.
  • Strong sense of ownership of your work and its outcomes, with a thorough understanding of the business that informs how you prioritize, problem-solve and lead
  • Have a strong bias toward action; able to prioritize momentum over perfection in a fast-moving environment
  • Can work independently with minimal oversight while knowing when to escalate, ask questions or pull in the right resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
