The Opportunity:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the operational management of the university’s Information Technology warehouse supporting telecommunications, network infrastructure, audiovisual systems, low-voltage construction, technology refresh initiatives, asset lifecycle support, and surplus operations. This position oversees warehouse operations, inventory control, material staging, asset accountability, surplus processing, and operational technology systems used to support warehouse workflows.
Responsibilities:
Inventory & Materials Management
Manages inventory operations for telecommunications, network, audiovisual, security, UPS, and low-voltage construction materials, including maintaining appropriate stock levels, conducting cycle counts and audits, reconciling discrepancies, establishing reorder thresholds, and supporting just-in-time inventory practices to minimize obsolescence, shrinkage, and inaccuracies.
Coordinates with procurement and vendors to manage material availability, monitor delivery schedules, resolve receiving discrepancies, and ensure timely readiness of materials to support operational needs, construction projects, and technology refresh initiatives.
Asset Lifecycle & Surplus Operations
Oversees the tracking and documentation of serialized technology assets entering and leaving warehouse custody, ensuring accurate asset tagging, validation, transfers, and deployment readiness, while coordinating equipment returns, recovery efforts, and disposition processes.
Manages surplus equipment workflows, including intake, segregation, documentation, and disposition tracking, while supporting secure sanitization processes and maintaining audit-ready records in coordination with university surplus and property management functions.
Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Supports the operation and integrity of warehouse-related enterprise systems by maintaining accurate transaction processing, coordinating user access and system workflows, and collaborating with IT and application administrators to ensure alignment between procurement, inventory, and asset management processes.
Develops and maintains warehouse performance reporting, including KPI dashboards that track inventory accuracy, fulfillment efficiency, asset movement, surplus activity, and workload trends, while analyzing data to identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Leadership, Safety & Compliance
Supervises warehouse staff and temporary personnel by assigning work priorities, providing training on systems and procedures, and monitoring performance to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to operational standards.
Ensures a safe working environment by conducting safety inspections, enforcing PPE requirements, coordinating equipment maintenance checks, and maintaining compliance with emergency preparedness and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations in a technology-focused environment (e.g., telecommunications, network infrastructure, audiovisual, low-voltage construction, or IT asset management).
Experience managing serialized asset tracking systems and overseeing full asset lifecycle processes (procurement, deployment, recovery, and disposition).
Advanced knowledge of inventory control methodologies, including cycle counting, audit processes, and just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices.
Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and asset management platforms (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, or similar).
Proven ability to develop and analyze operational reports and dashboards (e.g., KPIs related to inventory accuracy, fulfillment rates, asset tracking, and surplus activity).
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 - $72,583. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
