Founded in 1991, the firm protects the legal interests of lending institutions across the United States.Managing Attorney – Fargo, North DakotaThe ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with strong motivation, self‑starter, detail‑oriented, and skilled in critical thinking and problem solving. Proficiency with spreadsheets for data organization and analysis is required. The Managing Attorney will manage litigation operations, staff, and associate attorneys across assigned accounts for designated states. Responsibilities include mentoring associates, enforcing production and compliance, representing clients in civil litigation, and advising management on state‑specific laws and regulatory issues. The position reports to the regional AVP of Litigation Operations.Base CompensationBase salary: $130,000 per year, plus applicable bonus.ResponsibilitiesManage assigned portfolio of accounts to achieve client goalsImplement, manage, and improve litigation processes within the framework identified by executive managementInterview, supervise, train, and assign duties to litigation staffLiaise with Litigation Operations, Audit to ensure compliance with client expectations, firm policies, and regulationsTrain associate attorneys and staff on procedures and processesEnforce production and performance expectations for all staff and attorneys at the siteReview and execute legal pleadings, motions, etc.Send and respond to correspondence from opposing counsel, pro‑se parties, corporate office, litigation members, and courtsAdvocate for client interests in motion practice hearings and trials, in person and telephonically when permittedDraft pleadings, motions, responses, discovery, etc.Maintain appropriate account and case documentation in compliance with State Bar requirements, Court Rules, and firm standardsTravel to courtrooms within the branch office footprint as requiredPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsAdmitted to practice law and in good standing in North Dakota and South DakotaAbility or willingness to waive into Wyoming and MontanaHigh‑volume civil litigation experienceDebt collections experience (strongly preferred)Previous management experience (strongly preferred)Strong organizational and time‑management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of professionalismStrong commitment to ethics and compliance standardsCollaborative team playerProficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to read and comprehend position‑specific documents and correspondence, which may be voluminousAbility to interact verbally and in writing in a common language with individuals or groupsAbility to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent deviceAbility to complete a minimum of a 40‑hour flexible workweek schedulePhysical QualificationsLift five pounds or greaterSit 90% of the workday at timesBend at the waist and be mobile when neededConcentrate and use critical thinkingThis job description is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee in this position.
