Responsibilities:

PJT Partners is seeking a seasoned security executive to serve as Managing Director, Global Security. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of PJT's enterprise-wide security program — encompassing physical security, business continuity planning, incident management, threat intelligence and security policy governance. The MD, Global Security will work closely with senior leadership, Operations, Legal, Compliance, IT, Facilities and external partners to ensure the firm and its people are protected at all times.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a hands-on, individual contributor leadership role that requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in physical security operations, a strong network within law enforcement and/or military communities and the executive presence to influence and advise at the highest levels of the organization. Responsibilities include:

Physical Security

• Oversee and continuously improve physical security protocols across all PJT offices globally, including access control, surveillance systems, visitor management and guard force operations;
• Partner with Facilities and external vendors to assess, design and implement security infrastructure enhancements across existing and new office locations;
• Conduct regular site assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure consistent standards across geographies;
• Manage executive protection and travel security programs, providing guidance and support for senior leadership traveling domestically and internationally.

Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

• Lead the development, maintenance, and testing of the firm's Business Continuity Plan, ensuring readiness to sustain critical operations in the event of disruption;
• Coordinate BCP exercises and tabletop drills with key stakeholders across business lines and functions;
• Ensure BCP documentation, protocols, and recovery strategies are current, compliant and aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

Incident Management

• Serve as the firm's primary point of contact during security incidents;
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive incident response framework, including escalation protocols, communication trees and post-incident review processes;
• Liaise with local, federal and international law enforcement agencies as needed in connection with investigations or active incidents.

Threat Intelligence & Monitoring

• Establish and manage a threat intelligence capability to proactively monitor for risks to the firm, its personnel and its offices — including geopolitical risks, civil unrest and individual threat actors.
• Maintain relationships with law enforcement, government agencies and private sector intelligence networks to ensure early awareness of emerging threats.
• Provide regular briefings to senior leadership on the security threat landscape and recommended mitigations.

Policy & Governance

• Develop, own and enforce the firm's global security policies and procedures, ensuring they are clearly communicated and consistently applied;
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards across all jurisdictions in which PJT operates.

Vendor Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the primary contact for related vendors, providing day-to-day direction, performance oversight and accountability to ensure service delivery meets firm standards;
• Partner closely with the Facilities, Technology and Operations teams on all matters touching physical security, office infrastructure, systems and business continuity;
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior firm leadership on all security-related matters, translating complex risks into clear, actionable guidance;
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and HR as needed on incident response, investigations and policy matters.

Qualifications:

PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership skills, a global perspective and:

• 15+ years of progressive experience in security management, with significant experience in a corporate, financial services or similarly complex global environment;
• Background in federal or military law enforcement, intelligence, or special operations strongly preferred (e.g., FBI, Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, DEA, U.S. Military Special Operations or equivalent);
• Demonstrated experience managing physical security programs across multiple international locations;
• Deep knowledge of business continuity planning, crisis management and emergency response;
• Established network of contacts within U.S. and international law enforcement and intelligence communities;
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide security policies and governance frameworks;
• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with senior leadership and the Board;
• Proven track record of managing third-party security vendors and service providers; experience working with outsourced security models preferred;
• Comfortable operating as an individual contributor and self-starter, without a direct reporting team, in a lean and fast-paced environment;
• Relevant certifications preferred: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or equivalent;
• Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, International Affairs or a related field preferred.
