Compensation: $118,000 – $161,000 + annual bonus

Position Summary

The Managing Environmental Engineer is a senior-level engineering leadership role responsible for planning, designing, and delivering complex environmental remediation and restoration projects across the Pacific Northwest. This position will lead multidisciplinary environmental engineering initiatives focused on contaminated sediment remediation, waterfront redevelopment, and industrial site cleanup.

The successful candidate will guide projects from investigation and feasibility through design and implementation, while balancing technical leadership, regulatory coordination, and client collaboration. This role will serve as a key technical leader within the organization, mentoring junior engineers and supporting the continued growth of environmental remediation work across Washington and Oregon.

Working closely with scientists, engineers, regulators, and clients, this position plays a critical role in delivering high-impact environmental cleanup and restoration projects that improve ecosystems and support sustainable redevelopment of industrial sites.


What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage complex environmental remediation and restoration projects from investigation through design and implementation

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers

• Prepare and oversee remedial investigation reports, feasibility studies, and engineering design documentation

• Develop design drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates for remediation projects

• Analyze environmental data and develop remediation strategies for contaminated sites and sediments

• Support sediment remediation, dredging, and waterfront redevelopment initiatives

• Coordinate regulatory engagement with agencies including EPA, USACE, and state environmental regulators

• Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and quality control activities

• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff within project teams

• Support collaboration across regional offices and contribute to project strategy and client relationships


What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering field

• 10–15 years of experience in environmental engineering, remediation, or related consulting roles

• Strong experience managing complex environmental remediation projects

• Knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks such as CERCLA, MTCA, and RCRA

• Experience developing engineering designs, technical reports, cost estimates, and bid packages

• Strong project management experience including scope, schedule, and budget oversight

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with regulators, clients, and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with contaminated sediment remediation projects

• Experience with dredging, capping, or sediment management design

• Direct experience working with environmental regulatory agencies

• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D

• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

• Prior mentorship or team leadership experience

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year preferred
