Job Summary:
The Manpower Coordinatoris responsible for planning, sourcing, and managing workforce needs across multiple electrical construction projects, including both local and traveling jobs. This role ensures that projects are properly staffed with qualified personnel by coordinating internal labor resources and partnering with temporary staffing agencies. The position requires strong organizational skills, communication, and the ability to respond quickly to changing project demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage manpower allocation across multiple electrical projects, including traveling job sites
- Forecast labor needs in collaboration with project managers, superintendents, and operations leadership
- Communicate weekly with Project Managers and field superintendents/foreman to adjust manpower as needed
- Source qualified electricians and support staff through internal resources and external temp agencies
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional staffing agencies to ensure rapid workforce deployment
- Coordinate site-specific requirements for temporary and traveling personnel
- Track workforce levels, availability, and project assignments in real time
- Ensure workers meet basic safety and certifications requirements
- Monitor labor costs and support efforts to stay within project budgets
- Maintain accurate manpower reports, staffing logs, and workforce data
- Address staffing shortages, last-minute changes, and emergency manpower needs efficiently
- Conduct initial phone screenings for hourly electricians to support direct hiring needs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and maintaining a pipeline of qualified candidates
- Support HR tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction workforce coordination, preferably in electrical contracting
- Familiarity with union and/or non-union labor environments (if applicable)
- Experience working with temporary staffing agencies and labor vendors
- Strong understanding of electrical trade roles and job site requirements
- Excellent organization, communication, and relationship management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced in Microsoft Office and workforce tracking systems
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting multi-state or traveling construction crews
- Understanding of labor compliance and workforce regulations
Work Environment:
- May require extended hours based on project demands
- This position works 5 days a week in the office
