Athletic Trainer / Athletic Training Instructor

Manteo High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and performance of our student-athletes while also providing high-quality instruction in Athletic Training courses.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide athletic training services for student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning.

  • Attend and provide coverage for athletic practices, home athletic contests, and selected away events as assigned.

  • Collaborate with coaches, administrators, parents, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate care and communication regarding student-athlete health needs.

  • Maintain accurate injury documentation, treatment records, and required medical compliance information.

  • Develop and implement emergency action plans and assist with athletic safety protocols.

  • Teach Athletic Training and related health science courses in accordance with state standards and district expectations.

  • Create engaging learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world athletic training and sports medicine practices.

  • Support students pursuing careers in sports medicine, healthcare, and related fields through hands-on learning opportunities, certifications, and career exploration experiences.

  • Participate in school, district, and professional development activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Athletic Trainer certification and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.

  • Appropriate North Carolina teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the assigned content area.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

  • Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners.
