Responsibilities
- Review example parts, drawings & instructions to ensure familiarity with parts requirements.
- Measure, calculate, interpolate & extrapolate dimensions to ensure part conformity.
- Select appropriate machines & tooling and plan the required sequence of machining operations to ensure part quality and maximum productivity.
- Set up machine and machine parts consistent with best practices and industry standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damage.
- Provide applicable technical insight and guidance to junior Machine Shop personnel and other interdepartmental personnel as circumstances require.
- Maintain accurate accounting of inventory tag status, location and quantity.
- Manages
- Rework and/or otherwise disposition non-confirming inventory.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Able to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, manuals & other technical documents.
- Lift 50 lbs. unaided.
- Walk & stand for approximately 8 hours per day in a climate controlled shop environment.
- Able to function at a high level of productivity without regular oversight.
- 5 years of applicable experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer proficiency.
