Industrial Electro Mechanic (IEM) – Manual MachinistIndustrial Electro Mechanics (IEM) is a trusted provider of electric motor and pump services, serving industrial clients with repair, maintenance, and installation solutions. With a strong reputation for technical expertise and dependable service, we're looking to expand our team in Garden City, GA with a Manual Machinist.IEM offers great benefits, which begin after 91 days of employment, including health insurance, paid time off, and more.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRecord measurements and production data required to meet service and design specifications, including dimensions and sketches.Use precision measuring tools and techniques to verify correct sizing and tolerances.Perform machining operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, conventional milling, and lathe work using non-CNC equipment including engine lathes, horizontal and vertical mills, and horizontal boring mills.Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.Perform metalizing (metal spraying) processes as required.Understand material properties and appropriate machining and repair applications.Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, torch, and stick welding equipment.Set up and perform tool-post grinding, broaching, and babbitt bearing work.Operate hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools including band saws, belt sanders, grinders, and files.Safely lift, position, secure, and adjust heavy components during machining and repair activities.Follow all safety policies and procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment, particularly eye and hearing protection.Maintain a clean and organized work area per supervisor direction.Assist other machinists and service center departments with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed.Perform additional skilled or non-skilled duties as assigned by the supervisor or service center manager.Job Summary Operate a variety of non-CNC machine tools to fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical components and assemblies in support of industrial equipment and services.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Training or experience through trade school, vocational/technical programs, military service, or on-the-job machine shop training is desirable.Special SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude.Ability to learn, understand, and retain job-related procedures and safety practices as instructed by a supervisor.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Physical Requirements To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to:Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and communicate clearly by speaking and hearing.Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; stand, walk, and use hands for handling, fingering, and reaching.Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Possess sufficient vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, with or without corrective lenses
