Manufacturing and Controls Engineer

What you will do

We’re hiring aManufacturing & Controls Engineerto join our team at ourSan Antonio, TX plant. This role supports plant operations through automation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping drive uptime, quality, and cost performance.

What the group does

The engineering team partners closely withoperations, maintenance, and qualityto optimize manufacturing processes and equipment. This group is critical to ensuring reliable production, continuous improvement, and successful implementation of automation and capital projects. This is a high-impact, hands-on role with strong visibility across the plant.

What Does Success Look Like

• Improve plantuptime, efficiency, and cost performancethrough automation and process improvements

• Design, modify, and troubleshootPLC, HMI, robotics, and SCADA systems

• Lead and supportcontinuous improvement initiativesusing Lean/Six Sigma tools

• Executecapital and non-capital projectsfrom concept through implementation

• Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensurequality and process stability

• Identify root causes of downtime and implementsustainable solutions

What we look for – Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or related)

• 2 years of experience inmanufacturing and controls engineering

• Strong experience withPLC/HMI/automation troubleshooting and programming

• Proven ability to lead projects and drivecontinuous improvement results

• Experience withAllen Bradley (RsLogix / FactoryTalk) and vision systems

• Robotics programming experience (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)

• Experience withLean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or FMEA/DOE methodologies

Our San Antonio, Texas distribution center charges, packages, and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 1995, now employ more than 265 people, and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through Toys for Tots, The Strong Foundation and Soldier’s Angels.
