Job Title: Manufacturing Associate II

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Associate II to perform assigned manufacturing tasks for reagents and buffers. You will be responsible for troubleshooting formulations, filling processes, packaging, and analytical techniques while conducting quality control procedures for consumables. The role involves data collection and analysis, work order processing, and executing and improving batch records and SOPs. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support R&D and process improvement activities to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned manufacturing tasks for reagents and buffers.
  • Troubleshoot formulations, filling processes, and packaging.
  • Conduct quality control procedures for consumables.
  • Perform data collection and analysis.
  • Process work orders to complete products to inventory.
  • Execute and improve batch records and SOPs.
  • Identify gaps and weaknesses in SOPs and formulations.
  • Maintain correct inventory of materials through cycle counts, ordering, and receipt of materials.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support R&D and process improvement activities.
  • Lead a line for kit support and fill support.
  • Formulate simple buffers under 50L.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in formulations, reagents, and QC.
  • General laboratory skills including UV VIS, biochemistry, and chemistry.
  • Biochemistry/Chemistry.
  • Experience with SOPs, BRs, and WIs.
  • Hands-on experience with pH, conductivity meter, UV-vis, and standard lab equipment.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Highly organized and flexible.
  • Detail-oriented.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or related life science discipline preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in consumable manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with developing and updating BOMs is preferred.
  • Experience with formulation, fill, packaging, and chromatography in a laboratory setting is preferred.

Work Environment

Join a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for research and clinical markets. Work in a beautiful new building in the heart of Sorrento Valley, San Diego. The role operates on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. You will be part of the reagent formulation team, responsible for fulfilling manufacturing and quality control of reagent consumables, updating daily usage, and supporting R&D development. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with opportunities for growth.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.50/hr.
