Overview
Growing manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and cost accounting functions within a fast-paced production environment. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership and operations teams while helping drive financial accuracy, process improvement, and long-term growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Growing manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and cost accounting functions within a fast-paced production environment. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership and operations teams while helping drive financial accuracy, process improvement, and long-term growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, inventory valuation, and costing systems
- Oversee Accounts Payable, inventory accounting, and fixed asset tracking
- Analyze job costs, variances, margins, and overhead allocations
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets
- Partner closely with operations, purchasing, and production teams to support financial performance
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, KPIs, and financial analysis
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Mentor or assist junior accounting staff as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track experience preferred)
- 6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or public accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, job costing, and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a production-driven environment
- Ability to manage deadlines and operate effectively in a growing company environment
- Prior experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience improving costing systems, reporting processes, or operational accounting workflows
