    Description

    Overview
    Growing manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and cost accounting functions within a fast-paced production environment. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership and operations teams while helping drive financial accuracy, process improvement, and long-term growth initiatives.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
    • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
    • Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, inventory valuation, and costing systems
    • Oversee Accounts Payable, inventory accounting, and fixed asset tracking
    • Analyze job costs, variances, margins, and overhead allocations
    • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets
    • Partner closely with operations, purchasing, and production teams to support financial performance
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, KPIs, and financial analysis
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
    • Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
    • Mentor or assist junior accounting staff as needed
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track experience preferred)
    • 6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
    • Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or public accounting experience preferred
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, job costing, and financial reporting
    • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
    • Ability to work cross-functionally in a production-driven environment
    • Ability to manage deadlines and operate effectively in a growing company environment
    • Prior experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
    • Experience improving costing systems, reporting processes, or operational accounting workflows
