Overview Growing manufacturing and distribution company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and cost accounting functions within a fast-paced production environment. This role will serve as a key business partner to leadership and operations teams while helping drive financial accuracy, process improvement, and long-term growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, inventory valuation, and costing systems
Oversee Accounts Payable, inventory accounting, and fixed asset tracking
Analyze job costs, variances, margins, and overhead allocations
Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets
Partner closely with operations, purchasing, and production teams to support financial performance
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, KPIs, and financial analysis
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
Mentor or assist junior accounting staff as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track experience preferred)
6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or public accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory accounting, job costing, and financial reporting
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Ability to work cross-functionally in a production-driven environment
Ability to manage deadlines and operate effectively in a growing company environment
Prior experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
Experience improving costing systems, reporting processes, or operational accounting workflows
