Manufacturing Controls Electrician (PLC/VFD)

Role impact

  • Keep critical electrical systems reliable to minimize downtime and protect people and equipment.
  • Apply best practices and code knowledge to maintain compliance.
  • Partner with maintenance peers to plan work and execute upgrades effectively.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues methodically and implement effective, lasting solutions.
  • Conduct inspections aligned with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule repairs and capital improvements.
  • Maintain precise documentation of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist with installing new electrical systems and associated equipment.
  • Respond rapidly to electrical emergencies and unplanned outages.
  • Participate in training to expand technical depth and stay current.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical maintenance preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as an industrial electrician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and strong teamwork orientation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
  • Valid electrician’s license/certification is a plus.
