Manufacturing Cost Estimator

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a rapidly growing industrial solutions organization to identify a Manufacturing Cost Estimator in Grapevine, TX. This role is 100% onsite and will support estimating and pricing for fabricated mechanical systems, structural assemblies, and industrial equipment.

This position is ideal for an estimator who understands how things are actually manufactured, not someone working strictly from spreadsheets. The right candidate will have hands-on knowledge of sheet metal and fabrication processes and be able to review engineering drawings, determine material and labor requirements, and develop accurate project costs.

Required:

• Manufacturing or fabrication estimating experience with strong knowledge of sheet metal production
• Understanding of fabrication processes such as laser cutting, welding, machining, structural steel, and assembly
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Experience developing detailed estimates that account for materials, labor, machine time, setup time, purchased components, and other manufacturing costs
• Ability to work directly with engineering, production, and suppliers to validate costs and develop accurate project pricing

Preferred:

• Experience estimating structural assemblies, industrial equipment, packaged systems, or similar fabricated products
• Experience developing BOMs, material takeoffs, cut lists, or detailed project cost breakdowns
• Knowledge of material utilization, scrap reduction, manufacturability, and other cost optimization opportunities
• Experience obtaining and evaluating vendor quotes for fabricated, machined, electrical, or purchased components
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
