    Description

Manufacturing Cost & General Ledger Accountant

Picture your month: you partner with production leaders to understand what rolled off the line, trace it through work-in-process, and translate it into precise financials. You close the books with confidence, reconcile every key balance, and deliver GAAP-compliant statements that leadership uses to steer the operation. If you thrive at the intersection of factory floor and finance, this role is for you.

    What you’ll do

    • Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Own core general ledger processes: journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end close.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts; support and coordinate AP/AR activities as needed.
    • Complete bank reconciliations, track cash flows, and perform detailed account analyses.
    • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis—grounded in manufacturing cost structures.
    • Execute inventory accounting (WIP, cost of goods sold, production-related expenses) with rigor.
    • Support internal and external audits; uphold SOX requirements and internal control standards.
    • Prepare concise financial reports and decision-ready analyses for management.
    • Work within accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or comparable systems.
    • Partner across departments and provide guidance to junior accounting staff when needed.

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
    • Direct accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (cost accounting, inventory, or production finance) is required.
    • Strong command of GAAP, accrual principles, and general ledger fundamentals.
    • Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar).
    • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
    • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Clear, collaborative communicator who works well across functions.

    Preferred

    • Background in cost accounting, inventory valuation, or standard costing.
    • Exposure to SOX compliance and experience supporting audits.
    • Experience contributing to budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing setting.

    Benefits

    • 401(k) with company match
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
    • Life and disability insurance
    • Paid time off
    • Paid sick time
