Manufacturing Electrical Engineer / Drilling ServicesHouston, TX, United StatesWe're seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to provide electrical engineering support for our Wireline and Drilling Services product lines. In this role, you'll be programming Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Flying Probe equipment, troubleshooting PCBA's and implementing process improvements to optimize PCBA production efficiency while maintaining cost-effective solutions and high-quality results. You'll be instrumental in solving complex technical challenges and leading the transition of new processes using Lean Manufacturing principles.Roles and ResponsibilitiesIdentify root cause of PCBA failures by troubleshooting PCBA failuresDesign and develop manufacturing processes, equipment, and electrical systems to improve process capability, quality, and manufacturing readinessCoordinate manufacturing launches for new or revised products, ensuring seamless integrationCreate and maintain BOMs and routings for newly released part numbers, updating them as processes evolve through Lean Manufacturing initiativesDesign, develop, test, source, and cost-justify electrical tools, machinery, and equipment for enhanced manufacturing methodsIdentify and resolve production workflow issues including level loading, bottlenecks, machine reliability, and waste reductionLead key decisions and oversee projects that drive manufacturing excellenceProvide technical guidance for manufacturing activities and recommend process improvementsSupport quoting and order management processes with technical expertiseDevelop procedures and technical reportsWork with Purchasing, Category Management, and Manufacturing teams to simulate and assign manufacturing COGSCollaborate with global cross-functional teams to innovate and implement manufacturing technology best practicesMaintain effective communication with all internal and external stakeholdersUphold the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring ethical conduct and compliance with Security, HSE policies, and Management SystemsPrioritize Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental protection in all activitiesDrive continual improvement in HSSE practices, incorporating best business practices and technologyMaintain familiarity with Quality policies and actively support the Management SystemTake ownership of career development through training and skill enhancementEngage regularly with management on performance objectives and growth opportunitiesDemonstrate leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to company standardsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or industrial/manufacturing engineering from an accredited university5–7+ years in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of electrical engineering processes and principles within manufacturing settingsExpertise in electrical system design, circuit design, PCB assembly processes, and special manufacturing processes (conformal coating, soldering, ESD protection, testing, etc.)Proficiency with facility workshop tools including test ovens, soldering equipment, ESD workstations, and electrical testing equipmentStrong programming skills for AOI and Flying Probe inspection equipmentAbility to troubleshoot PCBA's to determine Root Cause of failuresProficiency in MS Office suiteStrong team leadership skills, self-motivated, innovative, and able to work independentlyLean Manufacturing experience or Lean Green Belt/Black Belt certificationFamiliar with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 specificationsUnderstanding electrical schematics and PCBA drawingsWeatherford is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
