Manufacturing Eng Tool & Die

Epitec is seeking to hire a Tube & Carrier Machining Tooling Engineer to support one of the largest U.S. automakers at their Sterling Heights, MI location. This role will partner with manufacturing process engineers and tooling teams to develop, implement, and optimize machining tooling solutions supporting high-volume production operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong tooling design expertise, machining process knowledge, and continuous improvement experience within a manufacturing environment.

W2 Contract: Long-Term
Pay Range: Market Rate

Key Responsibilities

• Support machining processes through tooling development and implementation.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.

• Support implementation and maintenance of GTSV tool tracking systems.

• Identify tool-dominant features and establish process controls.

• Complete PPAP launch documentation and quality deliverables.

• Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards.

• Create process sheets, work instructions, and quality documentation.

• Deliver capable machining processes and tooling solutions.

• Lead variability reduction and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

• Support ISO 14001 compliance activities.

• Investigate manufacturing issues and validate corrective actions.

Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or GED

• 4+ years of tooling/manufacturing experience

• High-volume machining manufacturing experience

• Tool design experience

• Tool modification and optimization experience

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Root cause analysis and problem-solving experience

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

• Royal Tool Presetter programming

• Zoller Tool Presetter programming

• Lean Manufacturing
