Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite full-time in Mossville, IL. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38.46/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support engine build and testing operations within a lab and production environment. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, developing standard work, and supporting tooling design for engine assembly and disassembly. The engineer will work closely with technicians, mechanics, and cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, ensure quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a unique blend of hands-on and analytical work with exposure to research and development environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement standard work processes to improve manufacturing efficiency and consistency
Design and support tooling for engine assembly and disassembly operations
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to support production and quality standards
Analyze production data, workflows, and processes to identify improvement opportunities
Support engine build and testing activities in a lab and manufacturing environment
Collaborate with technicians, mechanics, and engineering teams to resolve production issues
Prepare charts, reports, and diagrams to illustrate workflows, layouts, and process improvements
Assist with planning work assignments based on production schedules, machine capacity, and resource availability
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or Associates degree with 6+ years of relevant experience)
35 years of manufacturing or engineering experience (internships considered)
Experience with tooling design and standard work development
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Experience with CAD software and engineering tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with engine assembly, engine testing, or related mechanical systems
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design tools
Experience working in manufacturing, production, or R&D environments
Hands-on experience supporting shop floor or lab-based engineering activities
