The Fountain Group is currently seeking a --Manufacturing Engineer 3 --Assembly and Installation  for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in -Berkeley, MO. Details for the position are as follows:
 

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 3 – Assembly and Installation
Location: Berkeley, MO (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $71.02/hr

Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer 3 will support assembly and installation activities within a Test & Evaluation (BT&E) environment, focusing on aircraft structures, test hardware, and instrumentation setup. The role involves design review, manufacturing planning, and fabrication coordination for structural test programs.

Responsibilities include developing manufacturing plans and build instructions, performing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis, and supporting fabrication and installation of test hardware in laboratory and aircraft environments. The role involves reviewing CAD models and engineering drawings, creating and managing redlines, coordinating with design teams, and supporting procurement and sourcing of parts and materials.

Additional responsibilities include supporting machine shop fabrication, coordinating with suppliers, supporting installation of instrumentation and test hardware, and working with test engineers, instrumentation teams, and fabrication technicians. The role also includes supporting testing activities, troubleshooting build issues, and ensuring compliance with design configuration and manufacturing processes.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with manufacturing engineering in aerospace/aircraft assembly or test environments
  • Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)
  • Experience creating manufacturing plans, work instructions, and build plans
  • Experience reviewing CAD models and engineering drawings (CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar)
  • Experience with manufacturing planning tools
  • Experience supporting fabrication, assembly, and installation of test hardware
  • Experience with redline creation and engineering drawing updates

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with MESci or similar manufacturing execution systems
  • Experience with ECN (Engineering Change Notices) or configuration change management
  • Experience with CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter
  • Knowledge of machine shop fabrication (CNC machining, EDM, tooling, inspection)
  • Experience supporting flight test or lab test environments
  • Experience with procurement systems (e.g., eParts)
  • Knowledge of electrical fabrication and instrumentation installation
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and structural/stress analysis
