This is a long-term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $43/hr W2 + full benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay.Our customer is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in the world.Job DescriptionThe main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.Job Responsibilities:• Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.• Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.• Review and approve work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.• Review charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.• Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.• Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.• Recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.Skills:• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.• Team player and detail oriented.• Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.• Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.• Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.• Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.• Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).Position's Contributions to Work Group :As a Manufacturing Engineer you will function as a specialist within the Peoria Proving Ground ecosystem. Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete projects.Typical task breakdown:Perform Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) for existing and new shop processes.Develop detailed work instructions for existing and improved shop processes.Train new experimental mechanics and develops training programs to ensure functional expertise is achieved.Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.Work with operations leaders and machine engineers to develop and manage projects that ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are in place to produce quality service for machine product groups.Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and safety.Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and safety of operations.Design complex or intricate jigs and fixtures.Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.Interaction with team :Frequent InteractionWork environment :Mixture - when writing procedures/SFMEA, policy, etc. that will be in the office, but in order to get input that will be in the shop or fieldEducation & Experience Required:Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical engineering or another technical or engineering discipline. 8 or more years related experience required.Technical Skills(Required)Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.Previous experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.Soft Skills(Required)Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.Team player and detail oriented.Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Employment type Full-timeJob function Industries Agriculture, Construction, Mining Machinery ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Cullerton Group by 2xSign in to set job alerts for “Manufacturing Engineer” roles.
